Josh Duhamel's acting roles include Colonel William Lenox in three "Transformers" movies and Danny McCoy on television series "Las Vegas."
Actor and three-time "Transformers" star Josh Duhamel's newest roll is as spokesperson for the “High-Five for Pet Adoption” campaign of Petsmart Charities of Phoenix, the nonprofit organization reported today.

The campaign aims to boost awareness of dog and cat adoption and raise $250,000 for the organization, funds that would help save 10,000 homeless cats and dogs, the organization reported.

The campaign also celebrates Petsmart Charities adoption of its 5 millionth pet, a 5-year-old husky named Dodge adopted by retired U.S. Marine George Little from the Petsmart Charities Adoption Center at the Boynton Beach, Fla., Petsmart store.

To mark the milestone, the Little family received Petsmart Total Lifetime Care, which includes free pet training, grooming, boarding and pet supplies for life; free Purina coupons for 10 years for Purina Pro Plan pet food or treats or Purina Tidy Cats cat litter up to $4,800; and a five-year wellness plan from Banfield.

“About 10% of all pet adoptions in North America are made possible by Petsmart Charities and we save more than 400,000 homeless pets every year,” said Susana Della Maddalena, executive director of Petsmart Chartities Inc. “Saving five million pets' lives is an accomplishment we're proud to celebrate, and we thank the Little family and everyone who has saved a pet by adopting from our Petsmart in-store adoption centers. With the support of a leading celebrity like Josh to raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption, we aim to save millions more lives.”
Petsmart Charities has adopted on average 1,100 pets every day and about 400,000 each year since it was founded in 1994 through dog and cat adoption centers in Petsmart stores, the organization reported.

“Pet adoption changed my life when we were looking to find a companion for our 7-year-old dachshund, Zoe,” Duhamel said. “I applaud Petsmart Charities for its achievement of saving five million pets, and I'm honored to work with them to encourage everyone to bring the joy of an adopted pet into their lives and help save millions more pets.”

In the campaign, Petsmart Charities asks people to donate to it by either texting 80888 (to give information) or clicking here.

Enjoyed his character on Las Vegas and wish that show was still on - it was fun to watch! He ooks good with the beard, which must be for a new role, but I like him best clean shaven. Good to know he adopted too!

You found the spokesperson for your campaign. Adults as well as young pesons like him. I always like him when he was on "All my CHildren" and was sad to see him go,even if I am a 71 yea old grandmother.
