Customers will have to leave Saint Bernards at home, as the combined weight of the pet and carrier, which JetBlue counts as one carry-on item, cannot exceed 20 pounds. |
JetBlue Airways enhanced its JetPaws Program with the addition of the “All Your Pet Can Jet” unlimited travel passes for just $299 for small dogs and cats traveling with their owners.
The New York City-based pet-friendly airline will be offering a limited number of the dog and cat passes through Sept. 5, 2012. The passes are valid for unlimited travel with a pet by the pass owner from Sept. 7 through Dec. 31, 2012.
“We are excited to offer this limited-time travel pass to our customers traveling with pets,” said Tara Carson, JetBlue's manager of national promotions.
JetBlue accepts small dogs and cats in its aircraft cabins on all domestic and most international flights. JetBlue does not ship live animals as cargo or in the bellies of its airplanes. Pets are required to remain inside their carriers at all times, whether at departing or arriving airports as well as during the flight.
All Your Pet Can Jet passes are available at www.shop.jetblue.com. JetBlue also offers its free Petiquette guide on traveling with pets at www.jetblue.com/travel/pets.
“JetPaws is an exclusive program designed with our four-legged customers in mind,” Carson said. “Not only do we offer pet owners all the tips and tools they need for a smooth trip with their pet; we are now offering substantial savings. The All Your Pet Can Jet Pass provides unlimited pet travel for four months for what you'd normally spend taking your pet on just three one-way flights."
