Iams continues its tradition of helping adoptable cats and dogs with the Home 4 The Holidays campaign.
Iams Home 4 the Holidays 14th annual pet adoption drive is here. New this year is the Digital Dish Drive where readers can visit the Iams Facebook page and help donate meals to cats and dogs by Liking or Commenting on posts from Oct. 1 through Jan. 2.

"[We want] to feed more orphaned dogs and cats than ever before, and the Digital Dish Drive is one way people can help," said Laura Lewis, Iams External Relations Manager, P&G Pet Care. "Beginning Oct. 1, we'll feature a different dog and cat available for adoption on the Iams Facebook page and during scheduled ‘feeding' times, every ‘Like' or ‘Share' will result in a meal donation. Each month of our program, one participating animal organization will be the beneficiary of the feeding times."

Lewis says the Iams Bags 4 Bowls program will still take place at pet stores. For every specially marked package of Iams dog food purchased during the campaign (Oct 1, 2012 to Jan. 2, 2013) Iams will donate one bowl of food to a participating dog or cat organization. Pet people can also join the Iams Lifelong Rewards program. Folks who join   the Iams community by mobile sign-up at a participating pet adoption center or animal rescue or via Iams.com when you adopt your new family member, Iams will donate up to 5 lbs. of food to that facility.

With more than 7 million pets placed into forever homes since it began in 1999 and thousands of participating animal organizations as partners, Iams Home 4 the Holidays is continuing its fight against pet homelessness and dedicated to feeding more orphaned animals than ever before. Last year alone, a pet was adopted every nine minutes.

"Pet adoption is paramount for ensuring pets are in loving homes where they can thrive and receive proper nutrition," Lewis said. "We helped found the program to raise awareness for pet homelessness to help eradicate the issue."

Visit and “Like” the Iams Facebook page for the latest adoption numbers and easy ways to help orphaned cats and dogs, including details about pets available for adoption, fun ways to donate meals to pets in need and quick access to informative content and tips.

Congrats to IAMS for its part I helping animals in need. My cats don't eat IAMS, but they are to be commended for the project. More corporations need to be involved with the well being of animals.
