Golfers and pet lovers are invited to turn out at the Briarwood Golf Course in Ankeny, Iowa, on Sept. 22 for the FORE! Animals Golf Tournament, benefiting the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. All proceeds will go to help the homeless animals at the shelter.

“Helping homeless animals is a wonderful reason to spend a Friday afternoon on the golf course,” said Tom Colvin, ARL executive director. “Players can land a birdie for the birds, or master a dogleg for the dogs!”

Players registered for the event will receive 18 holes of golf, use of a cart and lunch. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at noon on Sept. 22. Awards will be given for top finishing teams as well as for longest putt, longest drive and closest to the pin.

For more information about the event, visit the Animal Rescue League website.
