Sherpa's Pet Trading Company has developed the most comprehensive list of airline regulations on pet travel to help make it easier to travel with your pet. More than 100 airlines are represented on their website, that was launched by the company in June 2005. Each airline link has its own pop up window with the telephone number of the airline and their particular rules, regulations, charges and necessary arrangements concerning pets.

When Gayle Martz developed the first pet carrier for use onboard airlines in 1989, this ex-flight attendant was out of luck. There were no airlines that accepted pets on board. Pets of a certain size were relegated to the cargo hold. Smaller animals were turned away. Today, 15 years later, many of the airlines do allow pets, but each seems to have their own set of regulations.

Sherpa's airline link is easily accessible on On the homepage, viewers click the "Links" section, then the "Travel" link where they choose one of 117 different airlines to find the regulations concerning pets.

This link offers more than pet information; it also includes the airline's website, phone number, address and routes.

"This is just another way to help our customers travel safely and comfortably," says Sherpa's founder and CEO Gayle Martz, has traveled more than a million miles in the air and on the road with her pets.

Martz came up with the idea of the Sherpa carrier when she wanted to take her Lhasa Apso, Sherpa, to California with her from New York. Sherpa had to stay home because she was too small for the cargo hold and they didn't allow pets onboard. This inspired Martz to design a lightweight, discrete carry-on bag that would fit under an airline seat, enabling her dog to comfortably travel in the passenger cabin. She then lobbied the airlines to let pets onboard.

Today, Sherpa's Pet Trading Company continues to serve thousands of customers by providing them with every travel pet accessory, information on travel, and by constantly expanding and improving the designs of pet carriers. For more information visit Sherpa Pet Trading or call (800) 743-7723.
