Garfield Artwork On Display Through Early December

The creator of Garfield places original artwork at the Hallmark Galleries.

Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield, displays his original artwork at the Hallmark Galleries in La Jolla, Calif., until Dec. 3.

Included in the show are original animation cells, comic strip originals, original acrylics, oils, airbrush paintings, and more. It culminates in a two-day event, Dec. 2 through 3, when Jim Davis will sign purchased artworks.

The Garfield comic strip first hit the funny pages on June 19, 1978. Today, the strip appears in more than 2,570 newspapers and is read daily by more than 260 billion people.
