The Companion Animal Parasite Council of Bel Air, Md. plans to launch a website in early January to provide information on zoonotic parasites.
The site will be divided into dog owner and cat owner sections. Each will provide answers to frequently asked questions about parasites and their effects on pet and human health.
While the site will offer behavioral and symptomatic descriptions of the most common internal and external parasites of dogs and cats, it will direct pet owners to their veterinarian for proper diagnosis and treatment.
The mission of the CAPC is to foster animal and human health, while preserving the human-animal bond, through recommendations for the diagnosis and year-round management of parasitic infections in dogs and cats.
The address will be www.petsandparasites.org.
