Cat Fanciers Association Announces Most Popular Breeds

The Siamese is the fourth most popular breed in America, based on CFAs registration statistics for 2005.The Cat Fanciers Association, the worlds largest registry of pedigreed cats, recently released its list of the Top Ten Breeds, based on registration statistics from 2005. Once again, longhaired breeds top the list, with the Persian claiming the No. 1 spot and the Maine Coon coming in second.

The list includes a range of breed types, with the Exotic following the Maine Coon. The Siamese and Abyssinian come in fourth and fifth, respectively, with the Ragdoll and Birman claiming spots six and seven. Rounding out the list are the American Shorthair in eighth place, with the Oriental claiming ninth and the Sphynx coming in tenth.

The Cat Fanciers Association (www.cfa.org) is dedicated to the preservation of the pedigreed cat and to enhancing the well-being of all cats.

Obviously people don't really know how unique the Turkish Van Cats and Turksih Angora cats are!
