The Wild Pleases Movie-Goers

In its second week in theaters, Disneys computer-animated tale about a group of animals escaping from the zoo holds onto a solid No. 5 position in the nations box office results.

Cat BookStarring Kiefer Sutherland as the voice of Samson the Lion, the movie follows the adventures of a giraffe, anaconda and koala as they search for Samsons son, Ryan (voiced by Greg Cipes). Ryan has stowed away on a ship heading foryou guessed itthe wild, and the animals are determined to rescue him.

Along the way, they encounter a street-smart squirrel named Benny (voiced by Jim Belushi), who helps them navigate their way through New York City. Benny ends up accompanying Samson, Larry the snake (Richard Kind), Nigel the koala (Eddie Izzard) and Bridget the giraffe (Janeane Garafolo) all the way to Africa. Once in the wild, the animals face predators, rescue each other from danger and encounter an active volcano.

Movie-goers can expect beautiful computer animation, some funny jokes, engaging characters and a brief musical number. The Wild is currently playing in theaters.
