The Humane Society of Central Oregon has issued a plea to community members for help in providing kitten food to feed the 124 kittens and cats currently in its shelter and foster homes.
We are currently at the beginning of kitten season, and the shelter needs your help in feeding all of these homeless kittens, according to the agency, which is located in the town of Bend.
The Humane Society says it desperately needs premium dry kitten food to nurture newborns, particularly Nutro, Chicken Soup brand, Science Diet, Pro Plan and similar products.
Other items needed are chicken or turkeybased canned cat food and regular, non-clumping cat litter. Drop off donations at the Humane Society of Central Oregon's Animal Shelter, Thrift Store or Bend Pet Express West or East.
