In addition to human gourmet cuisines like yellowfin tuna florentine, white meat chicken, whipped egg souffl, savory broths and garden greens, visitors to the Aspen Food and Wine Classic earlier this month found something else cat food.
During the event held June 16-18 in Aspen, Colo.,, visitors to the Gallery of Elegant Meals exhibit at the Baldwin Gallery witnessed the unveiling of Purina Fancy Feasts new Elegant Medleys gourmet cat food.
It was the first time cat food had ever been showcased at the annual Food and Wine Classic.
Purinas new selection includes white meat chicken, yellowfin tuna, lean turkey and wild salmon in combination with an assortment of flavors, inspired by menus at upscale eateries.
Visitors to the Gallery of Elegant Meals were invited to browse through the exhibit while sampling Elegant Medleys-inspired hor douevres (for people) created by the events host, celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito.
Guests also had the opportunity to vote for their favorite meals, with every ballot cast benefiting the Aspen Animal Shelter through a donation from Elegant Medleys.
The Elegant Medleys line will be available in July wherever cat food is sold.
