In conjunction with the release of Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, the American Humane Association (AHA) and 20th Century Fox are sponsoring a contest for animal shelters. Shelter professionals are encouraged to submit a true story essay of 250 words or less about a homeless cat that entered the shelter as a pauper but left the shelter with a loving family and became a prince of his or her new home.
AHA representatives will judge the entries. One animal shelter will win the grand prize of a free screening of Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, as well as a selection of 20th Century Fox DVD movie titles and autographed memorabilia from the movie. The screening is the perfect opportunity for fundraising, donor cultivation or a community event or a great reward for dedicated volunteers and staff.
The deadline to enter is June 30, 2006. For contest rules and an entry form, visit the AHA website.
