A cat in Boca Raton, Fla., is recovering from serious injuries after getting caught in a running wood chipper.
The cat climbed into a wood chipper for a nap June 20, and workers who were unaware that the animal was in the machine turned it on. After the injured cat was found, a nearby resident called a local cat sanctuary for help.
The cat was then taken to a West Palm Beach animal hospital for treatment of a broken neck, broken legs and severe head injuries. He underwent a series of operations and was then transferred to the 10th Life Cat Sanctuary.
Since then, more than 100 people have asked to adopt Chipper, and the sanctuary has received more than 800 emails asking about the cat, according to Maury Swee, the sanctuarys president.
