Red Cat Wine Celebrates 21st Birthday

Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards invites wine lovers to the birthday celebration.

The Hazlitt family cordially invites fans of Red Cat wine to help celebrate the popular vintages 21st birthday. The party will be held at the winery near the Finger Lakes in New York, July 30 from 1 to 5 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a beach party theme complete with hot tubs, limbo contests and live music.

Tickets to the big event may be purchased for $23 at the Hazlitt Winery retail shop or by visiting the Hazlitt Red Cat website (http://www.hazlitt1852.com/beachparty.html). Your ticket is your pass to the days games and contests, a full meal, an open photo session with the Red Cat and a souvenir wine glass filled with your favorite Hazlitt wine.

In lieu of gifts, the makers of Red Cat ask that you share your favorite funny or intriguing Red Cat wine story with the winery staff. For more information, visit the website.

How did they get the name? Was there a "red" cat at the winery?

I host a wine club at my local public library. When our theme was United States wines - not California - I went to the state store and found Red Cat! Well, everyone loved it! From the name, to the quirky cat in the hot tub and finally the taste. I have been doing this wine club for two years and this is the most talked about wine in two years. We loved it. Now they keep asking 'where can I find Red Cat?"

Love that red cat! White is awesome as well. Had a little taste of each at the State Fair in Syracuse NY this summer. It would be cool if there was a "calico" cat (rose maybe?)....or a black cat (blackberry wine?). Had a lot of fun. Just wondering as I live out of state, can I purchase wine on the internet through your winery?
