The Skeeter Foundation is conducting a contest celebrating how pets make people well.
The contest, called How My Pet Makes Me Smile, invites pet owners in the United States to submit photos that illustrate how their pet makes a positive impact on their life by making them smile.
The contest is a celebration of the human-animal bond, said foundation chair Jack Stephens, DVM. Stephens and his wife, Vicki founded the foundation after Dr. Stephens personal experience with his Miniature Pinscher, Spanky, helped him overcome cancer.
The first place winner will receive a trip for two to New York (three days and two nights); hotel accommodations; round-trip airfare; limousine service; a one-year Pets Best insurance policy for a dog or cat; a one-year Pets Best Routine Care endorsement deal; an air-conditioned dog or cat kennel; and an original painting by a pet, animal and wildlife artist.
The second through fourth place winners will also receive prizes, including limited duration pet insurance policies.
The top 10 finalists will be chosen by popular votes at skeeterfoundation.org. The first through fourth place finishers will be selected by a panel of judges.
Any pet owner who posts contest photos is eligible to vote as well. For more information and to enter the contest, visit The Skeeter Foundation website.
