Like a dog with its tongue hanging out, Rambo the cat likes to ride with his face and paws out of the driver’s side window of Dan Somers’ taxi. “Sometimes he’ll put his head way, way out there,” Somers told CBS4 News of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. “I mean he’ll put his feet way out. Sometimes I’ve gotta grab hold of his tail to make sure he doesn’t fall.”
Somers and Rambo the cat are known around West Palm Beach, Fla., as the tabby taxi. Somers brings his cat to work with him regularly. “I don’t spend a lot of time at home, so I figured to spend time with my cat the best thing to do was to have my cat come with me,” Somers explained.
While Rambo enjoys riding with the wind in his face, Somers said the cat does not like big dogs, trucks, trains and the occasional drunken person Somers drives home. “He goes under the seat,” Somers said. “He does not like drunk men. I guess most people don’t.”
Most customers enjoy the feline companion in the cab, Somers said, adding that none of his customers have complained of cat allergies.
