See a preview of the unique show that offers works of art devoted to cats, proceeds of which go to Stray Cat Alliance.

Cat Art Show LA opened Jan. 25 with a reception that saw 1,000 visitors intrigued by the prospect of cat art. Artists, including Shepherd Fairey and Gary Baseman, attended along with hundreds of cat fans who were curious about art and art fans curious about cats.

Below are a few of the works on display, but to truly get the full effect of the art, skip Superbowl weekend and head to Hollywood. The gallery's last weekend of the show is Feb. 1-2, and works are still available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds go to the Stray Cat Alliance.

Crowds, below, came to see works like this Patti Smith portrait above and the Britt Ehringer painting at left. A quilt by FAILE and black cat by Shepherd Fairey added street art elements. More amazing art was on display and will be through Feb. 2.
