Working with PetSmart Charities Adoption Centers in the Las Vegas area, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions found new, permanent homes for 27 cats and kittens in the week before Christmas, according to Carol Fox, Homeward Bound founder and president. Fox extended her thanks to the new pet owners. “In addition to saving the kitty they adopted, they also gave another kitty a chance to survive.”
The adoption drives took place at the Craig/MLK and Eastern/Russell PetSmart stores from Dec. 19-24, 2007. “We are so grateful to PetSmart for their partnership with us in hosting the Adoption Centers,” Fox said. “Because of this, the cats and kittens that live at the stores have a better chance of being seen and adopted by a family who truly wants them to be a part of their lives.”
PetSmart also donated more than $1,000, raised from adoption donations and Santa photos, to Homeward Bound, Fox said. “We are lucky to be associated with so many people who truly care about the goodwill of homeless cats and kittens,” she said.
Homeward Bound, founded in July 2007, serves as an alternative for cat owners forced to give up their pets. Since its inception, the organization has found new homes for more than 170 cats and kittens. For more information about Homeward Bound, visit the group’s website.
