The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) and the Simon & Schuster publishing company have joined forces and are seeking photographs of children with their cats for the “Cutest Cat and Kid Digital Photo Contest.”
“This photo contest is an excellent opportunity for cat owners to portray the wonderful and loving relationship that children have with their pet cats,” said CFA President Pam DelaBar.
Photos will be judged on cuteness (40 percent), originality (30 percent), artistic quality (20 percent) and photo composition (10 percent). Prizes include books from Simon & Schuster, PetSmart gift cards and CFA-branded products. One grand-prize winner will be selected along with four second-prize winners and 15 third-place winners. The grand-prize winner will be announced at the CFA-Iams Cat Championship in New York City on Oct. 14, 2007.
Photos must be received by midnight (EST) on Sept. 30, 2007. The contest is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec).
