Feral Cat Workshops Aim to Increase Awareness, Education

Alley Cat Allies offers workshops in Chicago to promote Trap-Neuter-Return programs.

Feral Cat Workshops Aim to Increase Awareness, Education
Workshops will teach Chicago residents about feral cats and Trap-Neuter-Return programs.
Nonprofit organization Alley Cat Allies has targeted the city of Chicago for a campaign to increase feral cat education and awareness in an effort to reduce their numbers by non-lethal means.

Alley Cat Allies will host four free workshops per month at various locations in Chicago for those who would like to help reduce feral cat populations by stopping the breeding cycle. The workshops will provide information on how to implement Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs that allow cats to return to their colonies after they have been altered. The workshops also will teach how to safely steer cats away from areas where they are not wanted and provide a forum for caregivers to network and share ideas.

In addition, Alley Cat Allies is partnering with other Chicago-area organizations to help promote TNR programs, and volunteers are needed to pass out flyers as well as help trap and transport cats.

The next workshop is scheduled for Jan. 9. For details and locations, click here.

If I could I would so try and take all the feral s, love them and care for them. But sadly that is simple impossible. But something like said in this article would greatly help, so that no more have to suffer what I am sure is a horrid life sometimes.

This is great! I recently started helping a group in a neighboring town with this. Last month we had 7 ferals post op for two nights to make sure they came through the surgery OK. Next week we'll get 5 more. It's so rewarding!
