A pet cat is safe today thanks to the efforts of the Nashua, N.H., fire department. When fighting a fire at an apartment building on Arlington Street, fire crews discovered a cat in the burning unit on the second floor, The Nashua Telegraph reports.
After removing the cat from the apartment, firefighters wrapped the cat in a blanket and administered oxygen to the animal. The cat should recover, deputy fire chief Michael O’Brien told The Nashua Telegraph.
O’Brien said the fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 5. Fire crews extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the department’s fire inspector.
