Until the end of January, the Humane Society of Utah is encouraging cat and dog adoptions with a “January White Sale.” Any cat or dog with a coat that is at least 50 percent white will be available for half the usual adoption fee.
“Now that the hectic holiday season is over, this is a great time to introduce a new pet into the family,” said Gene Baierschmidt, executive director of the Humane Society of Utah. “Normal schedules have resumed, people will have more time to devote to getting the pet accustomed to new surroundings, and there’s a lot less stress
and commotion.”
The adoption fee at the shelter includes the animal’s spay or neuter surgery, first shots, de-worming, a bag of food, and a cardboard carrier for cats or leash for dogs. Sale prices for adoptions are:
- Adult cats (5 months old and older): $24.50
- Kittens (4 months old and younger): $35
- Adult dogs (5 months old and older): $37.50
- Puppies (4 months old and younger): $65
