A cat who escaped from his cat carrier in Pearson International Airport in Ontario, Canada, last month has finally been reunited with his owner, The Record reports. April Campbell picked up her cat Jack, a 19-month-old Japanese Shorthair, over the weekend.
Jack disappeared from his carrier last month after a long flight from Japan to Pearson International Airport. Officials conducted a terminal-wide search and brought in a cat trap, but Jack eluded capture. Campbell visited the airport weekly looking for her cat, but stopped coming just last week. She didn’t think Jack would be reunited with her and Jack’s brother, Vic.
Then this weekend, Campbell received a call from the airport. Jack had been found by an airport employee, whose main responsibility was to keep wildlife out of the terminals.
Jack has lost some weight and his voice, probably from meowing for help for so long. Airport officials are not sure where he hid or what he ate during the past month. As for Campbell, she and Vic are just happy to have Jack at home. “We couldn’t ask for a better ending,” she said.
