Morris the Cat

Morris the Cat Visits Hinsdale Humane Society

To kick off his Million Cat Rescue campaign, the 9Lives spokescat returns to the animal shelter where he was discovered in 1968.

Morris the Cat, spokescat for 9Lives brand cat food, visited the Hinsdale Humane Society in Illinois this week to commemorate the start of the second year of 9Lives Morris’ Million Cat Rescue campaign and highlight Adopt-a-Cat Month. The animal shelter located outside of Chicago is where professional animal handler Bob Martwick found the orange tabby in 1968.

“It’s exciting to bring Morris the Cat back to the Hinsdale Humane Society, and we are honored that the local community has shown so much support as we kick off the second year of 9Lives’ Morris’ Million Cat Rescue campaign,” said Ryan Thomas, 9Lives brand manager. “Morris the Cat was a shelter cat, and we hope that his amazing story will inspire people to adopt a four-legged family member of their own.”

The Village of Hinsdale celebrated Morris’ visit by declaring June 13 “Morris the Cat Day.” On hand to welcome Morris at the shelter were Chicago Bull Tyrus Thomas, the Luvabulls cheerleading squad and Chicago Bulls’ team mascot Benny the Bull, as well as many local fans. The Chicago Bulls partnered with 9Lives brand cat food to donate $60,000 to the Hinsdale Humane Society.

“America’s favorite feline is certainly the pride of Hinsdale,” said David Robinson, Hinsdale Humane Society board president. “We appreciate that Morris the Cat is leveraging his celebrity status and his humble beginnings here at Hinsdale Humane Society to help find loving homes for his fellow four-legged friends, thanks to the 9Lives’ Morris’ Million Cat Rescue campaign.”

FINALLY A GOOD STORY FOR A CHANGE. THE 9 LIVES PEOPLE ARE SUPER WONDERFUL FOR LAUNCHING THIS PROGRAM AND TRYING TO FIND HOMES FOR DESERVING CATS.
