A pet products company is recalling a total of about 15,000 cat and dog blankets and pet bed warmers because of manufacturing defects.
Although it has not received any reports of injury, Radio Systems Corp., says it’s recalling 5,000 PetSafe brand heated pet blankets and 10,000 PetSafe heated pet bed warmers because the products can cause scorching, smoke, fire and injuries.
Because of the risk, the company is urging pet owners to immediately stop using the products that were sold through pet supply retail stores during October.
The affected pet blankets are PHB00-10909 and PHB00-10929; the part number is listed on the back of the original packaging. The blankets are sage green and sand colored and marked with the PetSafe logo and Radio Systems customer care number.
The affected pet bed warmers, model No. PHP00-10935, are white with black lettering and marked with the PetSafe logo, the PetSafe customer care logo and the model number near the power cord.
The company is offering a full refund plus a premium through Recall Management Inc. For more information, call (800) 624-9726 or visit Recall Management Inc.,’s website.
