A stunning example of the Persian breed took top honors at the 19th annual Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) International Cat Show held Nov. 17-19 in San Mateo, Calif. Jadon Comefly With Me of Kenkat, a blue Persian spay, owned by Donna Cook, Susan Cook Henry and Leah Fowler of Warrenton, Va., surpassed 723 pedigreed cats to claim the prize.
“This year’s Best in Show cat showcases the attributes of the Persian breed very well,” said Pam DelaBar, CFA president. “She gave a wonderful presentation in the judging rings.”
Other cats claiming top honors in their categories include:
- Best Shorthair Kitten: Janvier’s Balique of Korindah, (Chartreux)
- Best Longhair Kitten: Noblessa Aura of Kuorii (copper-eyed white Persian)
- Best Shorthair Championship Cat: Korindah Nicolette (lilac tortie European Burmese)
- Best Longhair Championship Cat: Inthewind Hollee Barrie (blue and white Persian)
- Best Shorthair Premiership Cat: Fuzzy-Foot’s Confetti of Dey-Dream (calico Manx)
As the largest cat show event in the Western Hemisphere, the CFA International Cat Show attracts the best pedigreed cats and breeders from around the world, according to CFA. The 2007 show will take place in San Mateo, Calif., again in 2007.
