Cat “Horror Stories” Contest Announced

Winners will receive litterboxes and tray cartridges.

Lucky Litter, a cat products company, is marking the Halloween season by holding a contest to find the best “horror story” in which a pet cat lost one of its nine lives.

“This contest is in the playful spirit of the scary stories told around the campfire. We want to hear your favorite story on how your feline proved that cats indeed have nine lives,” Lucky Litter president Alan J. Cook said.

Owners can enter the cat horror stories contest through Oct. 31 by visiting Entrants are asked to include a picture of themselves and their cats with their entry and to provide the correct pronunciations of the cat’s and owner’s names.

Winners will receive a free ScoopFree automatic litterbox.  ScoopFree boxes, according to Lucky Litter, can be left alone for up to 30 days with one cat or 15 days with two cats, without scooping, cleaning or refilling. Winners of the cat horror stories contest will be announced by Nov. 17.

Those winners who already own a ScoopFree automatic litterbox will receive a case of six ScoopFree litter tray cartridges instead. The contest is not valid where prohibited by law.

Also, the funny details of some stories could be shared with Animal Radio listeners. Animal Radio is a syndicated pet show carried by more than 90 radio stations, reaching two million radio listeners every week, according to Lucky Litter.
