Furry-Foot’s Confetti of Deydream — also known as Calie — charmed the judges with her calico and white beauty and nabbed top honors at the 2006 CFA-Iams Cat Championship at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Oct. 15. The 4-year-old shorthair Manx from Trenton, N.J., competed against 300 cats at the show, which attracted thousands of cat fanciers.

Grand Champion Beboptail “Yeti” of NuDawnz, a male 2-year-old American Bobtail, earned first runner-up honors. Grand Champion Zehnder’s BBC Late Night, a 1-year-old female Abyssinian, captured the second runner-up position.

New to the show this year was the Feline Agility Competition, in which cats navigate a series of obstacles including tunnels, stairs and poles. The winner of the competition was Ocigatos Meritage of Wildtracks, a 1-year-old Ocicat.

More than 300 cats competed in the show, representing the 41 breeds recognized by the Cat Fanciers’ Association. Highlights of the show included an adoption area, a feline shopping mall and a breed showcase.
