The Humane Society of the Silicon Valley (Calif.) accepts donations of gently used blankets, towels and quilts year-round to use in shelter kennels and cages. The blankets help keep shelter cats, dogs and other animals warm during colder months. The blankets also offer extra security and comfort in what can be a disconcerting environment, according to shelter staff.

Towels and blankets of any size can be dropped off at the Humane Society of the Silicon Valley animal shelter at 2530 Lafayette St., in Santa Clara, Calif. For more information about the shelter or how to donate blankets and towels, visit the humane society’s website.
