More pet owners prefer an SUV over any other type of vehicle, according to a poll conducted by the popular Spanish TV program “Entre Familia.”
The poll, conducted online from April 19 to April 26, 2007, found that 42 percent of pet owners said their preferred vehicle is an SUV, in particular the Dodge Durango, with Ford’s Expedition and the Chevy Tahoe closely behind.
Another 36 percent said they prefer a more mid-sized vehicle. Smaller vehicles were favored by just 14 percent of respondents, while the remaining 6 percent leaned toward mini-vans.
“It’s the comfort and space that’s appealing to consumers, especially when there are pets involved. Pets are like kids to most pet owners, and they buy with that in mind,” said Entre Familia TV executive producer Adrian Martinez.
“Needless to say, the purchasing power of the pet community is one that is enormous but ironically neglected sometimes,” Martinez said.
Entre Familia, which airs on the MoruVision network, features information on automobiles, travel destinations, resorts, celebrity interviews and home ideas.
