The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters’ third annual “Presents4Pets” campaign kicks off today.
As part of the campaign, the association encourages its sitters to collect pet items from their clients, which are then donated to animal shelters during National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, Nov. 2-8, 2008. Pet owners donate food, toys, beds, collars, blankets and all types of pet-related items.
Donations will be accepted until November.
NAPPS pet sitters will donate the items they collect to shelters and rescue groups in their area.
“Through this program, we hope to generate awareness of community shelters and the important role they serve,” said Candance Labane-Godfrey, president of NAPPS and owner of Precious Pets In-Home Services in Sacramento, Calif. “This is a great opportunity for all animal lovers, pet owner or not, to get involved and make a difference.”
