Those who share heartwarming pet stories or send a holiday e-card through a special website set up by Hill’s Pet Nutrition will help raise money for pet shelters nationwide — at no cost to participants.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition will donate $1 to its network of shelters for every story submitted or e-card sent through Dec. 31 — up to $20,000 — through its Feeding is Believing holiday campaign. In addition, Hill’s is donating 1.5 million pounds of Science Diet pet food to shelters in December, which brings the total value of its food donations in 2007 to more than $30 million, according to the company.
“At Hill’s, we continue to be inspired by the amazing stories about cats and dogs overcoming obstacles and changing people’s lives,” Javier Martinez, Science Diet spokesman, said. “This holiday season, Hill’s is celebrating the unique relationship between people and their pets by inspiring pet owners to share their special and extraordinary stories with friends and family. At the same time, they help us continue our efforts to support the well-being of homeless dogs and cats in shelters nationwide.”
