An animated series about the adventures of two unmotivated, not-so-bright cats who slack their way through life is coming to the ABC Family network this August.
Disney-ABC International Television announced May 21 that a half-hour comedy titled “Slacker Cats” will premiere in primetime this August on ABC Family. It will be the first animated series ever for the basic-cable network.
“Slacker Cats” will revolve around the unimpressive lives of two buddy cats, Buckley and Eddie. The series features the voices of the stand-up comedians Harland Williams, Sinbad and Emo Philips.
Also providing voices will be Alex Borstein (Family Guy), Kiersten Warren (Desperate Housewives), Nicole Sullivan (Mad TV) and Niecy Nash (Reno 911!).
“Slacker Cats” marks the American television debut of series creators Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley, two award-winning British scriptwriters.
