More than 300 cats representing 41 pedigreed breeds gathered at Madison Square Garden October 13-14 for the chance to be named Best in Show at the CFA-Iams Cat Championship. This year, Grand Champion Windchymes Tess, a male Mi-Ke shorthair Japanese Bobtail, earned bragging rights as top cat.
An 11-month-old, blue-cream Persian, Grand Champion Astral Charm Give Me Kisses, took first runner-up honors at the show. Amber Snow Cayenne, a brown patched tabby and white, longhair Scottish Fold kitten, placed as second runner-up.
Cats from around the world attended the show with their owners and handlers — 325, to be exact. The CFA-Iams Cat Championship also featured the Cat Agility Contest and cat adoptions.
