| | Crunchy, sweet Calico cat tails provide a perfect ending to a cat-themed Halloween party.
| | | What you need: • 1 bag large pretzel rods • 1 (12-oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips • 1 bag caramel candies • 1 to 2 tablespoons water • 1 cup crushed chocolate cookies • 1 cup crushed chocolate chip cookies
| Line a cookie sheet with wax paper and spray down with cooking spray. Note: The cooking spray will help prevent the caramel from sticking to the wax paper. Melt the caramel candies and 1 to 2 tablespoons water over a medium low heat. Once melted put on a low simmer or the caramel will burn. Take a spoon and slather the caramel onto the pretzel rod. Leave a part of the end plain so you can hold on to it. Place the caramel rod on the wax paper to cool for a few minutes. You want it to slightly harden. While the caramel rods are melting melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Once melted you can use a spoon or rubber spatula to slather the melted chocolate on top of the caramel. Place it back on the wax paper to slightly cool for a few minutes. On a plate take the slightly cooled rod and sprinkle the crushed cookie bits onto the chocolate. You can alternate them to make a calico pattern. Let harden in the refrigerator, then serve.
