Man Awoken By Cat
During the day, you might wonder why your cats sleep so much. Then, night comes, and so do your cats' shenanigans: meowing, playing, pawing — anything to wake you up!

Although cats sleep up to 18 hours a day, daytime naps do make up most of that equation. Consequently, you might feel like your cat won't let you sleep at night.

Take a look at this chart below to see if you can relate. Answer according to your cat's behavior, and try the solutions provided. You might find the answer to a good night's sleep!

Thanks for all the great suggestions- nice to know my kitty is average and could easily wake me up more often! Lots of great suggestions- many of which I can attest to working with my troublemaker.
Thanks again for the important, helpful, and visually stimulating article and suggestions!

My cat, Dakota, loves to push every breakable item off my dresser in the night. When I tell her to get down, she meows and hides under my bed. She also loves to eat my toes and hands! I've tried all the above, yet she still tries this every night. She seems bored, so I play tag with her for a 1/2 hour session before bed. (She loves tag) What should I try now???

To the person that throws the cat out at night. Did you ever think of playing with the cat during the course of the day. Getting involved not not just sitting down with a feather. You may also try playing with them about two hours before bedtime and then feeding them about 10 minutes later. You can change a cats schedule slowly. We;re talking just 10 minutes twice a day play schedules 20 minutes. Now may I ask is that to much for someone who mostly claims they love there cat. Making your cat part of the family and not getting stress about silly things which your cat will pick up on.
"I throw cat out if she tries to keep me up" Nice very nice loving owner. Do the cat a favor spenp some time with it and make part of your family or someone that will. I detest people like you. Cats are trainable. Remember a dogs brain is twice the size of a cats but a cat is twice as smart you can train in no time but remain calm or you'll get the same back.
