It's a great idea if you only have one or two cats to play with. We happen to have a family of 11 furry four legged felines. And, there are three of them that I worry about their size. Cleopatra is a turkish van that is obese. After we had her fixed through the feral cat colition we and she decided that she should become an indoor cat. She gained alot of weight after that. We try to avoid giveing table scraps to them as much as possibe. But, with 11 mouths to feed we have to have a large cat feeder. It is actually meant for large dogs that we bought in 1994 when we went on vacation toLas Vegas. We only were gone for 5 days and had 4 cats. They didn't become overweight. So, we kept the feeder. With our poor baby Selene a Sokoke Tabby she has gotten soft and appears to be slightly overweight on her way to be becoming obese. Selene are the only ones that don't play. Does any body have any advice on how toget my overweight feline children to play. And, does anybody know how we can get our little Angel (AKA Mouse) to gain weight? snicboo@gmail.com Subject cat channel comment

Katie -- It's great that Missy is so active. Check with her vet to see if she is at a healthy weight, or if something is complicating her weight loss. She might be just fine. : )

Quick note: Ponytail holders are great fun for cats, but sometimes games go too far and cats wind up eating these. Look for a similar toy that's larger, so there's no chance of ingestion.

My cat Missy is plump(I prefer to call her that because it doesn't sound as...big)and I try to play with her,but she doesn't want to.Sometimes she races around the house, chasing her brother,Mister.Mister has an ideal body;he is skinny, but not.Other times,Missy plays with a ball or a pony-tail holder. Is this normal?!
