The jungle cat, also known as the swamp cat or swamp lynx, is slightly larger than a domestic cat. Their coats are similar to the Abyssinian cat's, which is reddish-brown or tawny colored.

Jungle cats live in areas such as Israel, Jordan, Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt and India. They will hunt birds, reptiles and other small mammals throughout the day. During mating season, males will often "bark." Male jungle cats are also more protective of their young than female jungle cats. Jungle cats can live up to 15 years in captivity. Their biggest threat is hunting, as it takes 12 jungle cats to make one fur coat. The IUCN currently lists them as least concern.
